This daily deep cleanser from Nivea came highly recommended from a German friend who had tried everything to clear her skin up from breakouts and had no luck until she tried this, so for her, this was her budget friendly HG skin cleanser.
Directions: They are in German but I will just very loosely translate. There are two ways in which this product can be used.
- As an exfoliator, where you massage the product into the skin and wash it off with
- As a mask that can be used (2-3 times a week) and in which you can leave on your face for 1, 3 or 5 minutes before you wash it off
- Does not clog pores
- Do not get it in contact with your eyes because that would be like...bad
This product is a thick pale blue consistency with some dark blue exfoliant beads, but not so much that it can be classified as an exfoliator. When applied on the face as a cleanser it tingles, and when left on the face as a mask, it tingles straight away before you feel a bit of a burning sensation (I think this is because of the magnolia extract, although I cannot be sure). So depending on your pain reflex (is that what they are called? well I have none) you have a choice to leave it on the face for up to 5 minutes.
So the front of the tube has some interesting information and they are laid in order of importance (I love German efficiency). So, in order it says:
1. Name of product
2. Skin type (here it is for mature and problematic skin)
3. What it is used for (cleanser, peeling and mask)
4. Main active ingredient (magnolia extract)
Although my vain self was saying, yes, yes you are getting older, maybe you are in the "mature" skin category, I feel like this product is just too strong for me because it felt like it was burning the first layer of my face off, but if I did have an acne problem, maybe this would be quite effective as magnolia bark is thought to have antiseptic and antibacterial properties. I tried this on the husband as his skin has quite the wear and tear and while he felt the burning sensation as well, it wasn't as strong as when I used it, and once he washed the mask off, his skin was noticeably brighter afterwards. Perhaps I will give this to my mother for her to try as she has quite mature skin and see how she gets on with it.
